Snowboarding clothes are what is important in the sport. If you don’t have the right gear on you will not be allowed to play in most competitions and this is not just a stupid rule. There is a reason why snowboarding clothes are just that, because they serve a purpose to the rider. Snowboarding is a winter sport, when it is cold and snowing you will go out with your board and ride down some hills. This is why the clothes you are required to wear are they way they are, to keep you warm during this time. Another reason the clothes are so bulky and thick is so that it can protect you a bit should you take a tumble and of course so that you won’t freeze to death if no one finds you within the hour.
It is not the clothes that will make you a champ, but they can help you to become a champ as when you are wearing the right clothes you feel comfortable and when you feel comfortable and good about yourself you can accomplish just about anything. What most snowboarders worry about is the cost of the clothes. They may be a little expensive sometimes, but this is what it goes for. It is for your own good, so save up for a year if you have to! There are many stores and websites online that offer great deals and specials when it nears the season to be boarding.
Some of the most popular snowboarding clothes that are available are snowboarding jackets, snowboarding pants, mittens, gloves, hooded sweatshirts, fleece, first layer clothing, caps and beanies. So even for those days that aren’t really cold, (even with all the acres of snow) you can wear a hooded sweatshirt as this will still provide you with warmth while riding, it just won’t make you sweat as much as a full on snowboarding jacket would, and remember that when you are wearing a sweatshirt you will have nothing large and bulky to break your fall so you should be extra careful.
Snowboarding clothes also help to keep you dry while riding in the moist air or even in light drizzles of rain. You don’t want to get sick right before the biggest competition do you? Not the one that you have been training for about 6 months….that would be disastrous, the solution; get proper snowboarding clothes!
