People search sites

There are several people search sites available for your use. And unless you ask for very detailed information, a background check for example, they will give you what you need for free. These people search sites are also totally legal. Some are even used as basis for the 2 billion dollar US information industry. Be wary of sites though that ask for your information, especially if they ask for your credit card number.

For a simplified search, you can tap one of the most comprehensive and dependable people search sites-the Yahoo Free People Search. The interface is very user-friendly and people search results are quick. You even get to search for emails.

If you want more detailed people searches, you can scrounge the Web for specialized people search sites. The Online Doctor Finder, for example, will give you access to professional information on about 690,000 doctors. Or if you are looking for somebody who serves or used to serve the military, then a Military Search is what you need. If you need to find information on business professionals or on companies, then you need to tap ZoomInfo. ZoomInfo effectively narrows down your search and offers comprehensive search results on 2 million companies and over 31 million business professionals across different industries.

Sometimes you don’t even have to deal with complex people search sites to find what you need. You can simply use Facebook or MySpace to get recent information on old buddies or high school classmates. But if your problem is as serious as finding a lost relative or friend, then the Lost Friends is what you need. The site provides an international database and is more capable in giving you what you’re looking for. If you are a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, you can make use of FamilySearch.org. The family database offered by the site is a very comprehensive one and is one of the largest in the World Wide Web.

You can also get a tad more sophisticated with your people search and use the GeoWhitePages to run a background check on a person. You can also verify property value and locate assets through this people search site. Or you can do reverse lookups through 411Locate. Reverse lookup is something that allows you to search for a person through his or her phone number. 411Locate also gives you access to the white pages and the yellow pages. The driving directions that the site gives are added bonus.

  1. The focus of FamilySearch.org is family history also known as genealogy. One does not need to be a member of the LDS Church to use the free site.

Information on living individuals is supressed, and therefore will not aid anyone looking for living individuals, except where that individual has agreed to have his/her contact info showing as submitted of the ancestral (not descendant) lineage submitted.
