Street fashion trends

If you’ve ever tried conducting a google search for “street fashion trends” you know for a fact that Japanese fashion is what tops this list and pretty much comprises the search results. The Japanese take subculture fashion to the streets the boldness and choice of clothes has in many ways made their outfits into everyday-wearable haute couture.

While not everybody has the attitude that can pull off the mix matched Victorian inspired, school girl/boy and anime look altogether a lot of their quirky outfits can be dissected and used as separate accent pieces. The climate in Japan has often inspired layered clothing. The use of light pieces piled on top of each other gives added texture and volume.

A good example would be tights and leggings which are current top hitters as their light weight feature as well as their versatility make wearing it comfortable and stylish. Often paired with tunics, shirts, blouses, stiletto heels, platform wedges, sneakers and even flip flops. This makes wearing a supposedly simple and understated piece a fabulous success. Because of the fall season, current fashion trends include a lot of coats, wools, knit wear and scarves. Layering fall fashion and the addition of accent pieces make you look less Mrs. Doubtfire frumpy.

Street fashion trends generally adapt couture fashion only allowing you to look less ridiculous. Obviously couture has to be altered a bit to make it wearable on the streets and not just in runways. Another factor in making fashion, street trendy is the ability to create a look that works for your body type. Something you can wear that screams personality, attitude and style. Street fashion trends mainly depict fashion apparel and accessories mixed in with personal style. The idea is to be able to create an artfully done outfit while allowing the wearer, which is you to still be able to go about their work without having to worry that the intricate beadwork will be ruined

As mentioned Japan fashion is all about subcultures and is then translated into fashion. Tokyo is Japan’s fashion epicenter; the Japanese are the biggest manufacturers and consumers of fashion trends. Their insatiable appetite for self expression is what makes them addicted to trends. What you are is what you wear. The clothes do not make the man, the man makes the clothes his. You see fashion in any form is meant to accentuate you or highlight your style and features. Fashion trends are not meant for you to be personified by your clothes. Street fashion is everyday wear it’s stylish, it’s affordable and functional. Fashion trends usually vary depending on culture and society. Street fashion is a collaboration of your style with the current fashion forecasts, again stressing on how such clothes and fashion accessories must be less flamboyant and more work ready. Generally street fashion allows for a casual get up that can easily switch from day to night use. Think of something that you could go to work in and party the rest of the night with.
