The idea of emo haircuts has becoming one of the most sought out cuts of today’s teen generation. With so much angst in the argument that the emotional culture of today as well as the emo haircuts and hairstyles being considered as the source of laughingstock, many still sticks to what they think is good for them. And even of such accusations sticking on almost every part of the society, emo haircuts have continued to provide the popularity and expressing the current culture of today’s teenagers. So, what does it take to become part of the idea of emo haircuts? The following tips can be lead to simply having one of the most unique styles in emo haircuts.

Understanding the emo haircuts is a factor to be considered. An individual must realize that the emo culture is one of branches of the punk and Goth cultures. As the term “emo” (derived from the word “emotional”) implies, today’s youngsters promote certain development to themselves as becoming more sensitive people of the new century. The ideas of depression and anxiety are considered the norm, and the practice of “cutting”, inflicting harm to oneself, gives a more distinctive approach top them. However, emo haircuts have also represented an image that capitalizes the whole emo culture.

Emo haircuts are worn in two methods: either the spiky and short cut along with the longer bangs, or simply the long shag cut. Regardless of which hairstyle is preferred, however, there are two similarities between the two methods. Firstly and perhaps as the most important part of emo haircuts, is the transformation of long fringe of bangs. If one wants to be regarded as “emo”, then he/she should have the bangs – worn down obscuring the eye view then brushed to either left or right side that covers one eye, giving the ‘dramatic’ look.

Another type of these emo haircuts is the flippy bang look. It is attained through a number of methods depending on the individual’s hair type. If it is curly or wavy, certain emo haircuts are executed for it to lay straight correctly. This often involves the use of hair irons, blow dryer or a set or hair products ranging from smoothing gels, anti-frizz serums, hair wax or lotion and others. The idea of these bangs is the fringed wall that provides the look to emo teens in order to “protect” and “hide’ himself from the cruel world and various gazes from those who don’t understand them.

  1. Hi Lawrence thanks for the post about this, I was wondering if you knew of any places in Florida that are really good at cutting “emo” hairstyles. My daughter has been mentioning this type of hairstyle but she never seems satisfied with the way Aveda salons cut it. I was hoping there would be a salon in the Fort Lauderdale area that could do this for her. I’m not sure if you’ll know but I guess it’s worth a try. Thanks
