Shani mantra

A mantra is a Sanskrit spiritual and Hindu cultural word or letter sometime, which has an important value for worship or praying of a special god or goddess. The one word mantra “OM” is in fact a letter “?” in Sanskrit. This letter has an important value; it represents the three important gods in Hinduism; the creator, the preserver and the eliminator.

A mantra is related to the very core of the universe. Thus this cosmic reality of a mantra is related to everything in the universe. The planets, moons, earth, stone, humans and everything are a part of the mantras.

So, all heavenly bodies have their own importance and distinct type of mantra which represents them. Sani is the name given to Saturn in Sanskrit. When sani transits upon a person, this is called kantaka. The literal meaning of kantaka is throne; that must have made you clear on what happens to someone over whom sani has kept its spell.

During this time, the person’s carrier will be hampered, his family life will be deteriorated and his finance will suffer a lot. He will also suffer physically and mentally. He may loose his respect and his reputation will not be left safe.

To get remedy from the kantaka sani or the thorny Saturn is to recite some very important mantras of sani. This will provide relief to you and help calm down troubles that may arise due to kantaka sani.

Another important and troublesome transit of sani or Saturn is when it is in the 12th, 1st and 2nd houses of the Janma Kundali or natal moon sign. This type of stage is called Sade-Sati; a seven and half period of time. The most troublesome and dangerous stage in life is the stage of sade-sati.

When the Saturn is in the sade-sati stage, your household will suffer from domestic problem. They simply get wild and out of control. You will suffer great economic crisis and unbearable physical problems. You will have troubles from your children and relatives. Your enemies become powerful and you have to constantly fetch hospitals for remedy from sickness.

There are different types of mantra used for working against the workings of Saturn or sani. They include the Ekadashakshari Hanuman Mantra, Beeja Mantra and the chakra pasanna.
Due to this you will get relief from different bad aspects of sani in your life. These mantras are also associated with yantras and tantras that define the aspects of mantras and effects of sani. Some people are also found to be using new ornaments or stones to recover from this problem.

  2. I’m not a hindu, but I believe that this Sani Kantaka stage happens to everyone at one point in life, irregardless of their race or creed.

Why?Because I believe it has happened to me.I wish I knew about reciting mantras way back then. All those problems would not have vanished, but atleast they would have been alot more bearable.

  3. As a fellow Hindu and believer in Astrology do NOT believe all these frauds who will lead you to believe that Sade Saati is BAD for EVERYONE. The truth of the matter is that its effects are individual to a person’s chart. So please do not be alarmed until you have had your chart read by a trusted Astrologer. I recommend S.P. Tata and Dr. Prajarao. Both are very kind and honest men.

If anything difficulties with Saturn are a result of lessons you have not learned, lessons you have repeatedly had the opportunity to learn but chose not to or for whatever reason were unwilling to learn. If you take the time to introspect on your life till this point, you will understand what I mean.

Many people have risen quite high in life during their Sade Saati period. Famed astrologer S.P. Tata on his website http://astrojyoti.com/misconceptions.htm has this to say about misconceptions regarding Sade Saati (as well as misconceptions regarding Kal Sarpa Dosha):

“While it is true that during this 7-1/2 years Saturn transit period people do experience some tensions and troubles, it is nothing to be scared about. On an average every man has to go through at least 2 sadesatis during his life time. The results of the sadesati transit vary considerably from person to person depending on the planetary configurations in one’s birth chart. Even while giving some troubles and tensions, it does not deny you success. For example when Mrs. Indira Gandhi became a Cabinet Minister for Information and Broadcasting in 1964, she was going through her Sadesati! In January 1966 when she became Prime Minister she was still going through her Sadesati!! There are thousands of people who not only got away scot-free during sadesati, but actually prospered during it.
All kinds of dreadful results are forecast by the astrologers to scare the people and apart from living under fear, people spend a lot of money quite unnecessarily on all kinds of remedies. Actually the pundits love Saturn, Mangal, Rahu and Ketu, the fearsome four names in Indian astrology, as they have given more money to them by way of remedies than the benefic like jupiter or sun!”

  4. There could be no more wrongly maligned cosmic entity than the planet Saturn which has gained a negative image in the minds of the common folk due to imperfect knowledge of upstart astrologers and charlatans posing as priests. With his eyes set on the loaded pocket of the client it is not uncommon for a Panditji to forebode danger and losses, conveniently laying all blame on Shani Dev. This psychological trump card is most common in astrological circles, for even the most daring individual would not risk earning the wrath of Saturn by refusing to acquiesce in to the crafty priest’s spiritual remedy, which aims more at lightening pockets than placating the planet.

Accidents, pain, affliction, loss in business, quarrels in family, and sudden death have all been declared to be the domain of Saturn by priests who wish to strike terror in hearts of gullible masses and then encash the situation. The fact however is that Saturn is powerful enough to turn even a pauper into a king. To get a better and clear picture let’s look at astrological houses ruled and dominated by Saturn.

Saturn is debilited in Aries and exalted in Libra. It rules over two signs – Capricorn and Aquarius. Wherever it is placed in a horoscope it fully aspects the seventh, third and tenth houses. Venus and Mercury are its friends, while Jupiter and rest are enemies. In business Saturn rules iron, glass, oil and its precious stone is Sapphire or Neelam. While studying the horoscope longevity, court cases, business losses, death, robberies, prison, state punishment, enmities can be analysed through the position and influence of Saturn.

But it should not be inferred from this that the planet is a synonym of bad luck. It is generally believed that it brings sudden accidents, death, losses through fire, robberies, ailments, disrepute, hatred and jealousy. But this is only one half of the picture and this happens only when Saturn is ill placed in the horoscope or is a first rate malefic. And Saturn is not an exception in this regard, for even natural benefics like Jupiter, Mercury, Venus could produce adverse circumstances if they are malefic in the horoscope.

Saturn has its good effects like any other planet and if well placed it could make one rich, powerful and famous. It gives instant success. It is the ruler of justice and makes an individual hard-working and truthful if well placed. It makes a human a perfect businessman – ambitious, confident, careful, clever and quick in making decisions. Saturn also instills feelings of kindness, abstinence, patriotism, welfare of masses and can make a person a successful leader. If suitably placed it could give stupendous success in spiritual spheres. However if it is unfavourable in the horoscope it gives opposite results making one dishonest, liar, jealous, lazy, selfish, egoistic, poor, lustful and full of discontentment and bitterness.

Saturn remains in a sign for two and a half years and when it travels through the twelfth, first and second houses from the moon, the period is called Saade Saati or seven and a half years. During this period it could cause severe setbacks in life, mainly loss of wealth, position, ill-health etc. It is in fact due to this particularly malefic period in everyone’s life that has earned Saturn so much disrepute. But few know that even when malefic Saturn could be easily appeased or its negative effect could be neutralised through Sadhana. Any person suffering from a malefic Saturn or undergoing Saade Saati or wishing for benefits from this planet could himself test the veracity of these words by trying the following Sadhana.

Try this ritual on any Saturday. At night after 10 pm have a bath, wear yellow robes and sit on a yellow mat facing South. Spread a black cloth on a wooden seat. On it make seven mounds of rich grains dyed black. On each place a leaf of Peepal tree (holy fig). On each leaf place a Shani Gutika.

Then in the centre of the cloth make another mound with a mixture of black sesame and pepper seeds. On this place a Shaneishchari Yantra. Make five marks with vermilion on the Yantra. Offer flowers, rice grains on the Yantra. Light seven lamps filled with mustard oil. With a Black Hakeek rosary chant 11 rounds of the following Mantra.

    || Om Praam Preem Proum Sah Shanaye Namah ||
After Sadhana tie all articles in the black cloth and drop the bundle in a river or pond. This sure helps nullify the negative effects of Saturn. If the problem you face is severe try the ritual for seven consecutive Saturdays with same set of articles.
