There are two places I can think of off the top of my head for a California romantic getaway: Napa Valley and the wine country, and of course Monterey Bay. There are of course many other areas in California for a romantic getaway. You will find that many of the cities offer California romantic getaway locations as well as the surrounding areas. It will all depend on the couple who are going on the California romantic getaway excursion as to the real ideal place.

In San Francisco you will find plenty of California romantic getaway hotels. From the hotels that look out on the bay, the bridges, and offer the best sunsets to the places that are like a mom and pop establishment for a romantic private stay. The best option when considering any California romantic getaway location is the privacy you will have and the dinning options over candlelight you will find.

In Northern California you will have Bodega Bay and Mendocino. You will find plenty of cottages or villas to stay in along this coastline for the ultimate California romantic getaway. You will be atop cliffs looking down to find the cool waters beneath. Of course if you are interested in beaches you will have to head south. San Diego is a wonderful California romantic getaway with the Spanish history and island surrounding the Pacific Ocean. You will be able to experience the San Diego zoo, Sea World, and hope on down to Mexico for a day.

My favorite California romantic getaway is Napa valley. You will be in the heart of wine country with vineyards as far as the eyes can see and plenty of hotels or villas to stay away from the city and enjoy great wine and wonderful countryside. You will even find there are spas in the area to complete the pampering of a California romantic getaway. You will find plenty of health food along the way to go with your wine. You will also find exercise is still an option when you stay at the spas. Napa and Sonoma Valley offer tours of the wineries in the area. You can book the tours through your hotel or villa. The best time to go for a California romantic getaway is going to be May or early June. There will not be a lot of crowds there during these months or even in September and October. You will find mid- week is another great time to enter into your California romantic getaway as less individuals will be along for the tours and staying in the hotels.
